This position is short-term (~3 months) and grant-funded, with the possibility of additional months upon the availability of grant funding.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs scientific research (protein purification, biochemistry, enzymatic assays, microbiology, antibacterial screens, and molecular biology under the PI’s guidance.
- Communicates regularly with the P.I.’s.
- Maintains detailed and accurate experimental records.
- Participates and presents in journal clubs, seminars and conferences.
- Reads current scientific and technical literature relevant to the laboratory’s mission

- Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Microbiology or Molecular Biology, or in a related field and significant research experience.
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
