Echo is a two-year graduate service program dedicated to forming the next generation of leaders in faith formation in the Catholic Church. The Associate Director will work under the direction of the Director of Echo and in close collaboration with two other Echo Associate Directors who make up the Echo formation team in all aspects of the students’ holistic formation work.
Primary duties include the following:

- accompanying one third (currently 20+) of Echo students—predominantly parish apprentices—for two years in all areas of their integral formation and service;
- creating, planning, directing, evaluating, and evolving—in collaboration with other Echo Associate Directors and our Senior Administrative Assistant—programming and events related to Graduation, Mentor Weekend, Spring Day of Reflection, and Career Development Workshops;
- contributing to program development and events related to intellectual, human, communal, and spiritual formation of Echo students overseen by other Echo Associate Directors, including Orientation, Retreats, Ministry Courses, Summer Liturgies etc.;
- representing Echo to prospective applicants and partners throughout campus, at conferences, and to Echo diocesan leaders, mentors, and Echo Formation Assistants during site-visits and video conference meetings with Echo partner dioceses and students around the country. Contributing to limited Institute wide efforts and programming as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants should possess a Master’s Degree in Catholic Theology
- at least 5 years experience accompanying young adults in the faith and in ministry leadership in a parish, diocesan or university setting
- a deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith
- a demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse Catholic Church
- exceptional pastoral, formation, communication, collaboration, attention to detail, organization and administrative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include significant experience as a formator of young adults serving the Church
- significant experience in parish and/or diocesan faith formation and mentoring others in ministry
- professional fluency or proficiency in Spanish
- ministry experience with multigenerational and multicultural Church leaders and communities
