Job Relationships

Supervises: Work Program client employees, Case manager, Skills Trainer, Production Coordinators
 

Hours of Work: 
8 AM-5PM, additional weekend or early/late hours based on program needs
 

Position Summary: 
Position is responsible for overseeing intake, case management, job coaching and mentoring services to clients with IDDs and other disabilities. Manage Day Habilitation and Work programs, delivery of WAT/PSA, Vocational Training, Work Experience, and case management services to participants. Assist case managers in setting attainable goals and help clients achieve them. Assist with transition into supported or community employment. Supervise case managers and volunteer interns when applicable. Prepare for and maintain the program’s CARF accreditation.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
1) Develop goals for the number of persons to be trained in day habilitation, work and work experience programs that are achievable and cost-effective.
2) Establish strategies for effective pre-vocational skills training, personal social adjustment, independent living skills, and work program job retention based on current labor market needs
3) Develop and implement innovative approaches in the delivery services to achieve successful outcome of client goals as indicated on case plan.
4) Ensure staff is certified in required training areas such as Client Reporting of Abuse and Neglect, CPR &First Aid, Communicable Diseases, Crisis Prevention Intervention etc. Provide crisis intervention and task training as needed.
5) Provide direct client services including intake interview and orientation to Goodwill, on-going support, monitoring, and case management assistance.
6) Supervise individual program goal plans for each participant in conjunction with established goals set by production staff and referral agency.
7) Communicate regularly with referring caseworker concerning progress and outcome of participant. Facilitate participant support system interaction through communication and staffing involving all appropriate parties.
8) Monitor and document participant’s progress and production rates as required by funding agencies/ stakeholders.
9) Own branding of program, development of internal and external programs/partnerships that expand opportunities for persons with disabilities to maximize their learning and earning potential.
10) Maintain competency and current knowledge of market trends in services provided to persons with disabilities.
11) Establish and maintain client records. Develop, implement, and monitor systems and processes that result in effective programmatic and financial performance.
12) Own curriculum, skills training course development that prepares job seekers with disabilities for independent living, reaching personal goals and as applicable self-sufficiency.
13) Own stakeholder engagement, develop community, and employer connections that lead to meeting and exceeding recruitment, training, community inclusion (client volunteer activities) and job placement/ retention program outcomes.
14) Lead by example creating an environment of high morale through transparency and team participation.
15) Own regulatory compliance specific to state agencies- TWS VRS, Texas Health and Human Services, Work Quest, Dallas Metro care Services etc.
16) Own regulatory compliance specific to Wage and Hour processes and requirements specific to use of FLSA Section 14 (C). Assist VP of HR and VP of WFD with DOL and other related audits.
17) Own general program outcome measurement system and CARF accreditation for designated programs
18) Own revenue billing process and assist accounting with collecting aged receivables. Assist VP of WFD with annual budgeting.
19) Own advocacy for, and provide support to, individuals with disabilities. Represent the organization at DART PAAG board, etc.
20) Other duties as assigned.
 

Education & Experience:
 
1) Master’s Degree in rehabilitation, counseling and guidance, or psychology or bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of full-time experience performing adjustment services or similar duties in a rehabilitation agency organization or a combination of training and experience with a minimum of four years’ successful provision of services to individuals with disabilities.
2) Minimum of five years of supervisory experience is preferred.
3) Strong analytical, written, verbal presentation and interpersonal skills required.
4) Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems.
5) Crisis Prevention Institute Train the Trainer certification preferred (position is required to provide training to organizational staff)
6) Maintain Director and other required UNTWISe and other prescribed state agency credentials.
7) Ability to work non-standard/flexible schedule.
8) Ability to bend, stoop, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
9) Ability to lift/carry 30 lbs. periodically.
10) Valid driver license with clean driving record.
11) Ability to pass Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen upon consideration and annually thereafter.
