Director of Programming and Innovation

As a leading non-profit organization, we offer an array of completely free fitness classes and social opportunities locally in the greater Austin area and globally through our #1 Parkinson's Fitness channel on YouTube. Our programs not only enhance physical well-being but also foster a sense of belonging and empowerment.
Job Summary: As our Program Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization. Based in Austin, TX, this dynamic, community-facing position offers a unique opportunity to lead our team in innovative programming initiatives. In addition to demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills, we're seeking a creative thinker with a track record of innovation. We want to hear from you if you're passionate about creating and facilitating engaging experiences and driving positive change. This role requires weekly in-person availability Monday through Friday between 9 am-4 pm with the capability to drive to local classes throughout the work week as needed. Opportunities are available for some remote work.
Primary responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee local and global programming efforts, ensuring excellence in delivery and impact.
- Curate engaging and compelling online YouTube content reaching individuals worldwide.
- Spearhead initiatives to scale our organization, exploring new methods and strategies for growth and expansion.
- Develop and manage online instructor training courses, equipping more fitness trainers with the skills and knowledge to make a meaningful difference.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to support fundraising efforts and cultivate donor relations.
- Foster and advance local, national, and global partnerships, amplifying our reach and impact.
- Represent PFP at speaking engagements and community events, sharing our mission and vision with diverse audiences.
- Play an integral role in our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, ensuring our programs are accessible and inclusive to all.
- Attend local Power for Parkinson’s classes as needed each week.
- Manage administrative tasks, office organization, and team efficiency contributing to our overall success.
- Provide general support for Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Qualifications & skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher is strongly preferred, coupled with 4-5+ years of experience in nonprofit sector.
- A proven track record as a creative innovator with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
- Highly organized, responsible self-starter, and a collaborative team player.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with comfort in public speaking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, G Suite, and design software such as Canva and Adobe Studio.
- Experience with educational software, data tracking, and analytics.
- Spanish or second language is helpful.
- Ability to work with diverse staff, volunteers, and participants. Experience with older adults is helpful.
