Summary Description |
Associate Research Scientist – Pulmonary – Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Columbia University’s Department of Medicine invites applications for a research position available to begin at the rank of Associate Research Scientist, to work on the mechanism of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, as modeled in lung organoids derived from human pluripotent stem cells with mutations that predispose to pulmonary fibrosis in humans. More specifically, the role endoplasmic reticulum and proteotoxic stress, of lamellar bodies and phospholipid metabolism and of soluble factors that are produced by alveolar epithelial cells will be examined. The successful candidate will also be responsible for efforts to generate a swine model of this lethal disease, that will allow verification of findings in organoids in a preclinical large animal model. |
