Summary Description |
Job Description The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. The Assistant Professor will be appointed as faculty member of the Area of Neuroscience, specifically under the Division of Systems Neuroscience. In this context, you will work with the Columbia and NYSPI faculty to develop and implement a research program relevant to Systems Neurosciences. We seek candidates whose research is focused on cognitive/affective, computational, and neural mechanisms of human behaviors relevant to psychiatric disorders. Key Responsibilities: - Research and grant proposal writing -Interfacing with PIs to develop or import new experiments, or apply existing experiments in new ways - Teaching and mentoring graduate and postdoctoral students -Advising on study design and data analysis -Maintaining/troubleshooting equipment and tests, coordinating users within the facility, tracking quantitative and qualitative metrics and service fees |
Minimum Degree Required |
MD and/or PHD and at least four years of research experience in the field of computational neuroscience. |
Minimum Qualifications |
Of particular interest are applicants who are experienced using biophysical modeling or cognitive and economic decision-making models, applied non-human primates and rodents |

Basic Function Expertise in the development of cognitive paradigms amenable to theory-driven computational approaches to the analysis of fMRI and behavioral data is required. The successful candidate will contribute to the intellectual vitality of the Department of Psychiatry and will be engaged in translational, collaborative work with clinical researchers, and with researchers studying related processes in humans and non-human model systems, including faculty within and beyond the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia.
