Job Summary
Leading group of Scientists and Research Associates on product development of RUO and GMP-RUO recombinant proteins and functional antibodies. Serving in people management and technical roles to support function of Bioassay group within Product Development.
Essential Functions

- Oversight on the development of bioassays including cell-based (adhesion, migration, proliferation, cytokine secretion reporter expression) and functional ELISAs to assess the activity of recombinant proteins and functional antibodies
- Review of data generated at weekly meetings to support the advancement of projects
- Evaluation of new targets in alignment with company roadmap that includes immunology, neuroscience, oncology, and stem cells
- Representation of the Bioassay team within the Product Development department (Molecular Cloning, Protein Purification, Bioassay) as well as across departments including HR/Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Manufacturing, Business Development, QC and QA.
- Effectively communicate experimental results and strategies in presentations and written reports
- Maintain and monitor group operational documentation and laboratory equipment
- Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related scientific field
- 5 years of industry experience in a product development area
- 5 years in a lead position in biotechnology industry with strong leadership skills including people management, time management, and project management
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
- 3 years of experience managing Ph.D. Scientists and technical staff
- Strong hands-on experience with protein characterization and bioassay
- In-depth knowledge of recombinant protein expression and purification process development
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be an innovative, motivated, highly organized, and enthusiastic team player with the ability to handle multiple products and interact with multiple departments within and outside the company
- Willing and able to learn new skills to meet the dynamic needs of the organization
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 -$140,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
