We are seeking a self-motivated and creative undersea vehicle and sensor system technician to help us rapidly develop tailored sensor systems to attain information in the world’s most austere environments. Our team is motivated by the belief that timely and actionable information is key to our nation’s preeminence. You will become part of a team who work together in a collaborative development environment to adapt and field new technologies.

 

As an Undersea Vehicle and Sensor System Technician...

  • Your primary responsibility will be fabricating, assembling, testing, debugging and repairing electrical and mechanical sensors and systems.
  • You will assemble electronic and mechanical components and assemblies including circuit boards, cables, transducer elements, and electronics enclosures.
  • You will participate in laboratory and field testing by providing logistical and organizational support for systems under test including coordinating Bills of Materials (BOMs), checkout of field test hardware, and shipping documentation.
  • You will coordinate fabrication of parts and assemblies with the machine shop, engineers, and other engineering support staff.
  • You will organize systems and system components from purchasing through assembly and delivery for tracking purposes. Maintain laboratory equipment needed for assembly and testing including test and measurement equipment.
  • You will apply engineering principles, under direction of engineering staff, in designing, testing, reporting, and repairing electromechanical sensor assemblies and documenting results using commonly used computer software (Word, Excel).

 


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a certification or equivalent as an Electronics Technician
  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience in industry or military
  • Have relevant experience in maritime environments
  • Have strong organizational skills and initiative with assembling BOMs for systems, specifying components, soldering and crimping skills for cable assembly, computer operation skills, familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g., multi-meter, power supply, function generator, etc.).
  • Are willing and able to work in classified laboratories, travel to test locations in the desert, mountains, and/or oceans for 15% of your time and can you lift over 50 lbs.
  • Have demonstrated ability and willingness to multi-task across several projects and work independently in small teams while meeting quick turnaround demands.
  • Can interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top-Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have an Associate Degree from a two-year college or technical trade school.
  • Have 10+ years or relevant experience in industry or military
  • Have experience with undersea vehicles and maritime sensor systems. 
  • Have experience with subcontracted mechanical and electronics fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Have hands-on experience with electronics fabrication tools. Knowledge and practice of Quality Assurance standards.
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance.
