The full-time Postdoctoral Research Scientist position is supported by research grants funded by the NIH and the Columbia University Department of Neurology. The successful candidate will conduct research within the field of signal processing and machine learning using neuro/cardio/pulmonary physiologic data and electronic health records. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will participate in designing innovative methods to conduct data mining using comprehensive clinical knowledge bases and advanced machine learning tools.
These studies provide an excellent opportunity for the Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work within a multidisciplinary research team to explore advanced areas in health informatics. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will both contribute to ongoing research projects and propose projects that will be suitable for research grant funding.
The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will be encouraged to prepare and submit a career development award proposal, as well as other research proposals as appropriate, and to lead publications.
Teaching opportunities may be available if desired.
