Are you a skilled professional who believes in lending your skills to end hunger during these unprecedented times? If so, consider being the Program Manager – Community Partnerships for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking Programs team, reporting to the Director of Community Partnerships. The Program Manager fosters relationships with existing and potential agency partners. This role provides direction and support to a team of Program Coordinators as they work to develop, sustain, improve, and expand Food Bank distribution programs, relationships, and services. The internal application deadline for this role is 11/8/23.

What You Would Be Accountable for:
The Program Manager will be responsible for the following key pieces of work:
  • Agency Relations
  • Program Operations
  • People Leadership

What You Would Be Doing Right Now:
Agency Relations
  • Manage team of Program Coordinators who are the primary relationship managers for partner organizations and occasionally support participants accessing or interested in Food Bank programs.
  • Lead Program Coordinators to perform outreach in neighborhoods to identify, help Partnerships Advocacy and Voice Department recruit, manage, and retain community-based organizations to establish food programs.
  • Oversees the effective deployment of Food bank services in assigned neighborhoods.
  • Ensures community partnerships are compliant with Food bank policies.
  • Leads Program Coordinators in educating partners on Food Bank programs and subsequent policies and processes.
Program Operations
  • Ensure Program Coordinators facilitate flow of information from neighborhood agencies and participants to relevant Food Bank stakeholders, including Delivery Associate, Participant Enrollment Branch and Partnerships, Advocacy and Voice Department.
  • Support the deployment of applicable technology among program coordinators and agencies.
  • Continually monitor the effectiveness of neighborhood program operations and business processes and make improvements as required.
People Leadership
  • Set and communicate a strong vision for direct and indirect reports, including clear priorities, objectives, and measurable goals.
  • Oversee Program Coordination work planning and performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Provide professional development support and mentor individuals toward greater professional achievement.
  • The person develops SMART individual workplans for Program Coordinators to meet organizational strategic goals ensuring the advancement towards our mission to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
  • Programs are managed efficiently and within budget.
  • Program Coordinator team is adequately resourced in SF (San Francisco) and Marin communities and operate with high degree of efficiency, effectiveness, and engagement.
  • Programs meet strategic organizational goals and measures.
  • Appropriate policies and procedures are maintained and updated regularly.

What Else You Should Know:
All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered.

PREFERRED:
  • Advanced knowledge of low-income San Francisco and/or Marin populations, service providers, and faith-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of Food Bank agencies and neighborhoods.
  • Extensive knowledge of Food Bank Program Management, reporting, and regulations.
  • Driver's license preferred.
  • Fluency in Cantonese a plus.

EXPERIENCE:
  • BA or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years managing teams.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated success in managing comparable programs and efforts.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.) including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to listen, identify, analyze, and guide lay users through system and procedural problems.
  • Extensive knowledge of Food Bank Programs.

SALARY: The position is Fulltime The starting salary for this position ranges from $78,420.61 to $84,778.82 per year, with exact salary depending on experience.
