Job Summary and Description
This position provides support in the areas of case management, program maintenance, and skill development during Team Time and Structured Study for High School Diploma Completion Initiative (HSDCI) participants. Functions include case management activities, i.e., academic advising and course scheduling. The Academic Advisor serves as the first line of contact in supporting student success. This position is responsible for understanding and supporting the HSDCI academic goals and culture, monitoring student attendance and academic performance, coordinating academic and social support services, maintaining excellent rapport and communication with internal departments, outside agencies, and other stakeholders. The Academic Advisor assists with recruitment, preliminary intake, orientation, and referrals to resources and services. The person in this position communicates with LCC faculty and external stakeholders and supports to determine needs of students and serves as the liaison to high school counselors and other stakeholders including students' families/support network.

Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Significant secondary or college level teaching, counseling/advising and/or administration experience that includes case management of at-risk students/clients and/or students with disabilities.
Demonstrated experience communicating with diverse groups.
Excellent written/oral communications and collaboration skills.
Experience working with and using data for decision-making.
Must be able to travel for work and possess a valid driver's license.
Secondary Certification and counseling experience.
