Provides support to all volunteers with an emphasis on day to day operations of clinical volunteer activities under the direction of volunteer manager. Effectively participates and assists in the development of volunteer programs. Provides support for volunteer training. Coordinates and documents all volunteer activities within the software system. Reviews volunteer data to compile, analyze and generate monthly/annual volunteer statistical reports. Strives to ensure that every volunteer’s experience at Karmanos is rewarding.
 
 
Responsibilities
 

  • Provide supervisory role for all volunteers under the direction of volunteer manager with particular attention to day to day oversight of clinical volunteers.
  • Coordinate and/or participates in providing volunteer orientation, training, and scheduling.
  • Assist in the development and/or revision of volunteer programs and placements
  • Collaborates with clinical and nonclinical staff to provide volunteer support to fulfill the needs of the Cancer Center and the Institute.
  • Participates in the identification and resolution of problems with daily clinical operations to ensure superior guest experiences.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in patient care delivery system.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and flexible with work responsibility.
  • Computer literate.
  • On-site crisis management skills
  • Ability to effectively represent the Karmanos Cancer Center to a wide variety of audiences.
  • A history and knowledge of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is essential.
