Job Description:

SUMMARY

Manages all aspects of the Advanced Technology Academy providing leadership and development for staff and service and oversight to student participants, monitoring progress, and providing follow up services. Develops employer relationships, cultivates employer participation, and job leads for ATA students. Provides administrative and budget management support to the College's Advanced Technology Academy. Ensures compliance with federal workforce grant program requirements and performance metrics. Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages all aspects of the Advanced Technology Academy including providing service and oversight to student participants, monitoring progress, providing follow up services and providing to the employer industry in Ohio

  • Develops employer relationships, cultivates employer participation in the form of internships, interviews and job leads for ATA students

  • Provides oversight for departmental activities and events including technical training courses, internships, employer job fairs, graduation, and other events as specified

  • Responsible for ATA promotion including presentations, collateral materials, social media content, community outreach, and other methods as specified

  • Provides leadership in identifying populations for targeted outreach efforts and assists in planning and implementing outreach and recruitment efforts to meet stated enrollment project goals

  • Represents the college and the program via speaking engagements at community events and activities

  • Responsible for collection and maintenance of state data reporting, as well as other required grant and program reporting

  • Assists in preparation of proposals for funding; reviews funder requests for proposal to understand requirements, gathers required data, materials, and works with management as directed

  • Ensures the program remains in compliance with the funder's requirements

  • Inputs purchase requisitions, expense reports, travel and other expense related processes

  • Maintains student files, records and confidentiality of information

  • Supervises assigned staff of others as needed

  • Assists with budget planning and preparation

  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Significant related experience may substitute education

  • Minimum of five years of industry-related workforce experience

  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others

  • Demonstrated experience assisting with the planning and preparation of a business area's budget

  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Possesses working knowledge of youth workforce programming and student recruitment concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;

However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
