Clinical Coordinator Veterinary Technology

We are searching for an experienced Clinical Coordinator Veterinary Technology

Job Purpose:
Provide administrative support to the Director of Veterinary Technology in the management, execution and evaluation of the veterinary technology credit program and the veterinary assistant continuing education program, including staffing, facility and resource management, accreditation, curriculum development/maintenance, student recruitment and advising, course instruction, program marketing and fostering clinical relationships for clinical practicum and graduate job placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate with the Academic Dean and the Director of Veterinary Technology in strategic and academic cycle planning at the college, division, program, advisory committee and course levels, including development of experiential and clinical affiliation agreements and clinical and experiential partnerships to augment the academic program.

  • Prepare program self-studies and annual reports, coordinate program site visits for both credit and continuing education programs.

  • Manage systematic evaluation of the division, program, curriculum, learning resources and student learning outcomes including production and preservation of program/student records. Facilitate the completion of college-based program reviews and continuous improvement plans.

  • Develop and implement the program enrollment management plan, including the production of up-to-date marketing materials, web site and recruitment activities.

  • Maintain accurate and complete program records including curriculum and resource development and evaluation; systematic evaluation, course evaluation, student evaluation and all accreditation documents.

  • Manage student admission, advisement, progression, graduation, and certification.

  • Attend and participate in professional development activities, serve on district-wide committees and participate in service to the college, including college graduation.

  • Ensure that records of student clinical performance, attendance, and other records pertaining to clinical training are maintained for each student and that minimum competencies for each student are being met by the assigned clinical rotations, maintain records of student grades in clinical courses, schedule, conduct and evaluate classroom lectures as needed.

  • Facilitate lab and clinical learning experience for students.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years' teaching experience is required.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of AVMA and CVTEA policies and procedures for the accreditation

  • Knowledge of college and program policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of marketing language and marketing strategies

  • Computer and applicable software skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Design skills

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to supervise, direct and evaluate the work of employees

  • Ability to foster positive human relations and teamwork among faculty, staff, students and across all programs and college services

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment.
Frequent physical effort required.
