Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Research Associate. This position reports to the Outcomes Assessment and Institutional Research office and works with departments throughout the college to assess data needs, support compliance, mission fulfillment, equity, decision-making, and continuous improvement at the strategic level and across the college through data analysis and reporting. Remote work options available.

Position Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to create large, complex data sets from disparate sources while managing data quality – both for statistical analysis and data management.

  • Support the creation of surveys and other research instruments, develop sampling methodology, conduct analysis, and present results

  • Create and maintain interactive interfaces for accessing data through Tableau

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with college stakeholders to analyze data needs and functional requirements.

  • Document and communicate research findings

  • Provide relevant data to support efforts to secure additional funding, including grant development

  • Conduct the work related to external reporting and evaluation requirements and assist in the development of systems to collect pertinent information required by secured external grant funding and federal regulations, e.g., IPEDS

  • Work with college community to ensure data integrity, including consistency in coding

  • Engage in data strategy planning and governance with the goal of facilitating a culture of equity mindedness, inquiry, and data literacy across campus

  • Practice highest levels of security and ethics in managing data

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field of study closely related to social science research or data analysis with at least three (3) years of experience OR Master’s Degree in social science research, data analysis or related field

  • Two years of experience with relational databases

  • Two years of experience with SQL, including coursework or Microsoft certifications

  • One year of experience with Tableau

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting on data related to inequities, specifically race

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, meet deadline pressures, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to create large, complex data sets from disparate sources while managing data quality

  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds

Supplemental Information

Salary Statement:
$68,801 annually
Benefits include vacation/ sick leave; medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance; retirement; and tuition waiver.
